Countries
Stage 1. - Weeks 1 - 2
1. Pace the poster on the board.
2. Say "Listen" (point to your ear) "and repeat." (point to your mouth)
3. Point to each word having the students repeat after you.
4. Go back and ask "What's this country?"
5. Students who can answer raise their hands.
6. Choose a student to say the word and have the class repeat.
Stage 2. - Weeks 3 - 4
1. Repeat the process in Stage 1.
2. Ask students what countries they want to go to. (Needs to be explained in Japanese)
3. Get everyone to say "I want to go to [country's name]. (Explain that even if they don't want to go to another country, for practice, choose a country, and make the sentence. They can also choose a country not on the poster. With a stubborn student who refuses to choose a country you may want to move on. We don't want to force a student to say something they don't want to say. Again, this all needs to be explained in Japanese.)
Stage 3. Weeks 5- 8

Nationalities
